The Power of Journaling

My journals have become like my best friend, a safe place to share my thoughts and feelings, without judgement. I don’t do it every day, but it is my “go to” when I’m feeling overwhelmed, anxious, unsettled but also when I have exciting revelations or ideas. Journaling has helped to detangle thoughts, declutter my mind and gain clarity, enabling me to stride forwards more confidently and authentically with positive intentions.

Journaling is a great way to get to know yourself by becoming more aware of your thoughts, feelings, values and your limiting beliefs and habits so that you can ensure all choices and decisions align to your true authentic self. Writing helps to release mental blocks, relieve stress and gain clarity. It can be a particularly powerful tool to alter the brain’s negative thought patterns. It can inspire and foster a happier, more fulfilled and content life.

As a coach I often share journaling tips with clients, offering prompt questions during and between sessions. Every client I’ve worked with says they enjoy journaling, even if they experience resistance, it helps them to build self awareness and as far as I know, most have continued doing it at some level, even after their coaching journey with me. But HOW do I get started with journaling? I hear you ask…

Many have found it hard to get started with journaling, so I have written a journaling guide with prompts. This is a FREE resource to spread the love of journaling and help you gain more clarity and awareness. Get in touch if you would like to receive this PDF to your inbox.

“Mindful Routes Journal Guide has allowed me to create structure to my daily and weekly routine where I can benefit from the release of many challenges and, allows me to overcome obstacles and have a stronger and greater fulfilment and purpose”

Allan, Fife

I have also hosted some journaling support weeks with groups online, to prompt, support and challenge thinking, so check out my social media pages for updates of any other workshops I will be hosting.

“Thank you for a wonderful week of journal prompts. The 5 day challenge was a perfect length to give us an introduction to journaling and I loved your posts each day. I particularly enjoyed the day focussing on confidence and what it means to us. You created a lovely little community that I was honoured to be part of.“

“Being involved in the Mindful Routes wellness week was enlightening. It made me think about some really important topics and give some clarity to myself. I’ll continue to journal and can’t wait to be involved in another Mindful Routes event.”

Chris, UK

“Working with Jen over 5 days was an eye opener. Jen motivated and gently guided us to sit with our triggers, which enables me to reframe my thinking… The phrase commitment is the thief of joy, strongly resonated with me and was my catalyst for change. I remain faithful to my journaling and mantra practice. Thank you Jen for believing in me.”
